Removing the Engine, Transmission and Subframe
Before I could remove the sub-frame, I first had to construct a couple of "tools". Primarily, the castoring wheel shown on the left. I also had to build a frame to raise my chain falls up into the second floor of the garage, so as to provide the necessary clearance when lifting the body of the 220a
Below, the body is lifted almost to the point of clearing the valve cover. As ungainly as it looks, it was a one-man operation and quite simple. The castoring wheel can be seen at bottom center, attached to the transmission mount bolts.

With limited space, I still needed the ability to move the un-powered car around. I made a triangle frame on two castoring wheels which bolts to the three sub-frame mounts.
